Create a nourishing environment....and let the law of attraction unfold

Last week I participated in a wedding with an unusual sense of belonging! Many of us felt a sense of ownership that was unique and extremely pleasurable. Mind you, my personal involvement was very minimal - the only 'official' role I played was acting as the host for about 15 minutes during the lunch. That's about it!!!

So, it got me thinking...Why was I (and others) feeling this sense of belonging and the resultant joy?

As I sat for lunch....and watched the banana leaf come alive in a few minutes, an insight emerged....

I have know Anandhi and Ravi, the parents of the groom,  for many years. Over the years I had marvelled at this lovely couple's sense of completeness and harmony. I chose these phrases with care. Let me elaborate.

First, completeness - I have rarely seen two people so complete as individuals and so 'whole' as a couple. And they just seem to flow together so well....I was witness to one such act of harmony a few years ago when I dropped in to their home to see them going through a morning ritual with a sense of flow and harmony that undoubtedly came from a personal sense of ease with themselves and with each other. The fact that they had this flow for so many years only deepened and enriched it.

Just like a stone thrown into a placid lakes sends ripples far and wide, their sense of harmony and completeness has touched and inspired so many others - and stirred within us a sense of belonging and contribution.

Just like the freshly washed empty banana leaf attracted the myriad of yummy delicacies that created this magnificent meal, it seemed to me that the warmth, humility, good nature and sense of wholeness that Anandhi and Ravi embodied brought so many of us together to feel as if this was 'our' wedding.  And so from being guests at the festivities, we somehow transformed into engaged co-creators that added significantly to our joy.

Some important lessons learned....but none more so than the reminder of the law of attraction (or Karma) - What we sow we reap! The fruits of community could only be the result of the nurturing environment built over decades!

Thank you dear Ravi and Anandhi was giving me this chance to re-learn this magnificent lesson and also enjoy the moment!
