I WAITED FOR A SIGN….
I
WAITED FOR A SIGN….
It’s been a week….There was a part of me that wanted to make the announcement and share my joy and for some reason there was a silent whisper that kept me “wait for the right moment.” And so this morning, when the omniscient Facebook, announced that that it was Jagruti Gala's b’day, I knew the universe was nudging me.
In March last year, I began a journey to become a certified coach. While I thought I joined the program to acquire skills, I am blown away by the overall transformative experience the process has been for me. At the centre of this wonder lay Jagruti and the other wonderful coaches/teachers who not just taught me how to become a coach, but inspired me to become a better human! Nay, they did more, a lot more…they created an environment of trust, empathy, ‘edginess’ and candour that made it safe for me to look within myself, accept my ‘demons’, celebrate my innate talents and equip me to embody courage, compassion and commitment.
Over a 12 month journey, Jagruti and the wonderful band of teachers ‘held space’ for me and my mates on this wonderful journey. Jagruti patiently listed to my recordings as a coach and made insightful suggestions to help me improve. She was fair and tough and held me accountable, politely yet firmly telling me when I did not meet the ‘cut.’
So, last Sunday, when I graduated last week, I knew it had been earned indeed! However, this is just a beginning and I know I have so much to learn and further embody!
I reached out to Jagruti yesterday, little knowing (consciously) that today is her birthday. The best gift I could give her is what I communicated yesterday – “Dear Jagruti, just wanted to share this experience with you. Yesterday, I had one of my best coaching sessions. I helped a senior “C Suite” leader pause and shift from the presenting agenda of “I am stressed at work” to a deeper, and possible transformative space – “I need to treat myself with more kindness. ” “ There was a beauty in this moment that brought a lump to my throat and a moistness in my eyes.
Ever so often, we find angels around whose touch transform us. So, on this special day, thank you dear Jagruti, for showing that I am indeed complete:
"Om poornamadah poornamidam poornaat poornamudachyate
Poornasya poornamaadaaya poornamevaavashishṣyate"
Poornasya poornamaadaaya poornamevaavashishṣyate"
Or as our good friend Yoda would so eloquently state – “Complete are you, young Chaganti.”
Aww.... Connects so much with my journey as a coach as well... Lovely people... Very very grateful for all the faculty and my batch mates of CFT... Sanjay very well expressed... Thank you for sharing... My eyes are also moist now... Take care
