 OBI-WAN HAS TAUGHT YOU WELL, YOUNG SKYWALKER!

"Welcome home” said Karl Hofmann with a broad smile.
As President and CEO of PSI, it’s great how he always make the time for a leisurely chat every time I roll into Washington DC.
As I walked into the building, it struck me that 30 years had passed since I entered 1120 19 Street. In 1992, I recall the immediate connect in an informational interview. I had met two other organizations, but the energy of the people I met that day (Steven Chapman Kadiatu Bachili Judith Timyan and Brad Lucas strongly resonated – Here were a group of people who did serious work without taking themselves too seriously. My tribe!
A year later I joined the organization and the love affair began….that continues to this day.
Having open one on one conversations with Karl, Michael Holscher and Marcie Cook were insightful and enjoyable.
It was a lovely bonus seeing others as well – Julia Roberts, Manish, Nina Hasen and Dorothy.
Missed seeing many who were not in. Next time...
During the week I caught up with so many PSI alums. I leave that to a separate post.
Suffice to say, “Welcome Home” felt just right!
Now, the story about the sword and the yoga mat....You better ask Karl...

We Are All On 'Standby'.... In the past few days, three poignant experiences wove themselves into a single narrative that felt too significant not to share. The first is something we all experience this time of year: the turning of the calendar . One year ends, and another begins. It’s a natural time to reflect, reset, and reimagine what’s ahead. The second was attending a memorial service for a young man who tragically passed away. It was a moving tribute, but also a stark reminder of life’s unpredictability. As I sat there, a friend shared about their elderly parent, deeply suffering, and said, “I wish they would find peace and move on.” The contrast was striking: here was a young man, full of life and promise, gone too soon, while another life lingered on amidst suffering.
