When the head, heart and hands are in harmony…..doors open!

Just attending this conference was another wonderful example of how the power of thoughts combined with emotion and action can help one get what one wants. Yup, a great lesson to start off with!

Connecting with Daniel Goleman

A few months ago, I had got in touch with Daniel Goleman, one of the pioneers in the field of Emotional Intelligence (my current passion). Out of a whim, I wrote to him on Linkedin expressing gratitude for how his work had influenced my life. To my surprise, he replied and asked me to get in touch with his publisher if I would be interested in a project he is working on. As I was looking at his profile, I came across a summit on Emotional Intelligence and Mindfulness in London where he was one of the main speakers. The summit was scheduled in May 2017, around the time I was scheduled to be there. The spark was lit! I really wanted to go, but the £1,000 price tag for a day was prohibitive and not something I wanted to shell out!!!

A few weeks later Dan interviewed me for a podcast series he is putting together. After this chat, I wrote to him in Linkedin requesting if I could attend this summit pro-bono. I did not hear back from him. Felt squeamish to pursue this further.

Time to act….

So, there I was in London, three days before the summit and the strong desire to attend once again kicked in. This time around I wrote to his publisher. She did the trick - a day later, I received a note from the organizers that I had been registered as a delegate!!!






Catching up with Dan during the summit was a special treat. He had not seen the original message I had sent him. I have been using an assessment on Emotional Intelligence, that he developed, with many of my coaching clients across the world and we had a great discussion about its utility. He asked me to stay in touch and I look forward to doing so.


This experience has reinforced my belief that the synergy of head (goal), heart (intent) and hands (actions) indeed opens doors and makes things happen!

We Are All On 'Standby'.... In the past few days, three poignant experiences wove themselves into a single narrative that felt too significant not to share. The first is something we all experience this time of year: the turning of the calendar . One year ends, and another begins. It’s a natural time to reflect, reset, and reimagine what’s ahead.
